Select projects under development.
Fryin Pan, Texas
Just off Route 66, Fryin Pan is a 300 MW solar PV and battery energy storage development project.
Fryin Pan aims to supply the local transmission system with an abundance of clean energy, replacing brown power that is currently supplied by two retiring coal-fired power stations.
The project site is currently farmed but suffers from drought and degraded topsoil. Once built, Fryin Pan will implement regenerative land management practices to improve top soil conditions and direct storm-water runoff to the on-site playa lake in an effort to help recharge the Ogallala Aquifer.
(Project divested in 2024)
Painted Rocks, Utah
With nearly 300 days of sunshine per year, our 200 MW Painted Rocks development project is set to shine and supply Utah’s growing economy with clean power.
Set outside of Painted Rocks Canyon, the privately owned project site is used primarily for sheep grazing, which will continue when the project reaches operation for vegetation management and top soil regeneration.
Painted Rocks is one of many joint development projects with BOW Renewables in Utah.
Desert Flower Solar, California
Set in the high desert of California, Desert Flower Solar is a 22MW solar project that is scheduled to reach commercial operation in December, 2025.
The project site was previously used to grow alfalfa and our plan is to integrate poppies, lupine, farewell-to-spring, desert marigold and other high desert flower species into the seed mix surrounding the project in order to revitalize the site as a pollinator habitat.
Tabor Ranch, Nevada
Set just north of the Ruby Mountains, Tabor Ranch is a 460 MW solar PV and battery energy storage development project.
The project site is currently used primarily for cattle grazing. Once operating, Tabor Ranch will become one of the largest suppliers of clean power in northeastern Nevada, and yet it will be seen by few people, given its remote location and pledge to abide by Dark-Sky lighting standards.
As great stewards of this land for generations, our landowner is pleased to know that Tabor Ranch, when built, will implement regenerative land management practices to support local flora and ecosystems.
